HISTORICAL PROFILE

FOUNDING FATHERS

I can never study the birth of our great country without marveling at the initiative shown by our Founding Fathers. These men were from vastly different socio-economic backgrounds. Their education varied as did their viewpoints on many issues. But there is one thread that ran consistently among them...they were men of great initiative. Listen to their thoughts on initiative.

  • "I emerged from the poverty and obscurity to attain a degree of reputation in the world." Benjamin Franklin in his autobiography

  • "Dost thou love life? Then do not squander Time; for that's the stuff life is made of." Benjamin Franklin

  • "System in all things must be aimed at; for in execution, it renders every thing more easy." George Washington
