 The Man 

Rev. E.A. Shobanke has now visited Abundant Life Tabernacle on two separate occasions.  Once years ago he visited us at Butter St.  For those in that meeting they will never forget him teaching us the chorus, “Holy Ghost Fire – Fall on Us”.  His powerful preaching on faith and then ministering to individuals at the altar made an impact on our church family.   

This past year he was with us for one service as we hosted an “African” service and honored this unique man of God.  Again, Bro. Shobanke brought to us a message of faith and commanded us to pursue the revival God has for ALT. 

His Ministry 

In February of 2004, Pastor Setser was invited to preach, along with Pastor W. Hill and Pastor C. Palhman, at Bro. Shobanke’s annual convention.  They traveled to the city of Abeokuta.  Abeokuta has a population of over 1 million, (mostly impoverished Nigerians).  While there the American team was able to minister to over 300 preachers belonging to Bro. Shobanke’s ministerial group.  On Sunday they were in his church and saw first-hand the great vision and faith of Pastor Shobanke.  With the help of various holiness churches in America, Bro. Shobanke has been able to build:

§         A great sanctuary that seats 500 and is completely full of worshippers

§         A prayer tower where 24 hour prayer is offered up

§         Rooms for abused and abandoned mothers and their children

§         A fellowship hall and children’s sanctuary

§         A Bible School where hundreds of young ministers have been trained

Our Mission 

Over the last several years we have been able to sponsor Bible School students in Honduras and Guatemala.  Because of this, there are now evangelists throughout Central America that we have an investment in.  Many times this has been an opportunity for our young people to give $5 - $20 per month, thus start their life-long mission giving. 

ALT is partnering with Bro. Shobanke by “adopting” students in the Bible School and sponsoring them with $25.00 each, per month.  These students will be trained by the man of God and his teachers, they will be sent into the darkness of sin to preach the Gospel.  We have an opportunity to share in the harvest of souls these young evangelists will win for Christ.
