Text Box: News from Nigeria
Our phone calls and emails tell us things are going well in Nigeria.  Evangel Chapel is consistently running over 300 every Sunday.  We have purchased property and they plan to begin construction on a daughter church the first of 2005.  This is very exciting for us as it is in a section of town where we have wanted to build a church for several years, the details never seemed to work out until now.
The capable and faithful faculty of Evangel Theological Seminary work diligently to keep things running smoothly.  Scott’s highly anticipated meeting with them will entail intense business sessions to wrap up class schedules, budget matters and other fine points involved in administration of the Theological Seminary.
Our evangelism coordinator, Pastor Ezekiel Saje, continues to conduct crusades and plant churches as funds become available.  Pastor Saje has conducted nineteen evangelistic campaigns in 2004, reporting 4,011 new converts enrolled in the discipleship classes taught at each of these campaigns.  In his report of these meetings – 228 new believers were filled with the Holy Spirit.  His brings our total count to 14o new churches planted in the last 5 years. PTL!  Our involvement in the building of these churches of course involves training; however we only begin their building construction for them, providing support poles, rafters and roof (this will get them out of the sun and rain). These young churches continue to grow on their own, working hard to complete the buildings by teaching them the principle of tithing, making the building truly “theirs”. In the many evangelistic meetings held, nearly 200,000 adults and children have been documented as accepting Christ as their Savior.
Plans for Return
Presently we have 89% of our budget raised.  Our departure is contingent upon our meeting the proposed requirements.  We hoped to leave in May, but it appears more likely to be August before we will be able to begin our next term on the field.
Thank You!
We would like to take this opportunity to say “Thank You” for your prayers and financial support.  Our desire is to be good stewards of the talents, finances and opportunities given to us.  Without your help, we could not do the work God has called us to do.  Your prayers and finances are touching lives in Sarkin Pawa, Girka, Mari, Kontagora, Barkin Ladi and many other villages throughout Nigeria, West Africa.  As we say in Nigeria; “May God replenish all you have given out, and may He, add more grease to your elbow!”
